- நாணம் உடைமை சான்றோர்க்கு அழகு தரும் அணிகலன் அல்லவா என்று வள்ளுவர் கேட்கிறார். அந்த நாணம் இல்லையென்றால், அவர்கள் பெருமிதத்தோடு நடக்கும் நடை பார்ப்பவர்க்குத் துன்பம் தரும் நோய் போல ஆகிவிடும். தவறுக்கு அஞ்சும் பண்பு இல்லாதவரின் பெருமிதம், மதிப்பைத் தருவதற்குப் பதில் வெறுப்பையே தரும்.
