- தன் குடும்பத்துக்கு வரும் குறைகளையும் துன்பங்களையும் தடுத்துக் காக்க முனைபவனின் உடல், துன்பத்தை மட்டுமே நிரப்பி வைக்கும் பாத்திரமோ என்று வள்ளுவர் வியந்து கேட்கிறார். ‘கொள்கலம்’ என்பது பொருளைத் தாங்கும் பாத்திரம். குடும்பத்தைக் காப்பவர் எல்லாத் தொல்லைகளையும் தாமே தாங்கிக்கொள்கிறார் என்பதே கருத்து.
