- தேவர்கள் யாருக்கும் கட்டுப்படாமல் தாம் விரும்பியதைச் செய்வர். கயவர்களும் அறம், நாணம், பெரியோர் சொல் எதையும் பொருட்படுத்தாமல் மனம் போனபடி நடப்பதால், அவர்களும் தேவர்களைப் போன்றவர்களே என்று வள்ளுவர் கேலி செய்கிறார். 'மேவன' என்றால் விரும்பியவை. எந்தக் கட்டுப்பாடும் இல்லாமல் நடப்பது பெருமை அல்ல, இழிவே என்பது கருத்து.
