- இவளுடைய வளைந்த புருவங்கள் நேர்மை தவறாமல் கண்களை மறைத்துக் காத்திருந்தால், இவள் கண்கள் என்னை நடுங்கவைக்கும் இத்தகைய துன்பத்தைத் தந்திருக்காது என்கிறான் தலைவன். 'கொடும்' என்பது வளைவு; 'அஞர்' என்பது துன்பம். புருவங்கள் கண்களைத் தடுக்கத் தவறியதால்தான் அவற்றின் பார்வை தன்னை வருத்துகிறது என்று அவன் புருவங்களின் மேல் பழி சுமத்துகிறான்.
