- அவள் என்னைப் பார்த்தாள்; பார்த்த உடனே நாணத்தால் தலை குனிந்தாள். அந்தச் செயல், எங்கள் காதல் என்னும் பயிர் வளரும் பாத்தியில் அவள் ஊற்றிய நீர் போன்றது என்கிறான் தலைவன். நீர் பெற்ற பயிர் செழிப்பது போல, அவளது பார்வையும் நாணமும் காதலை வளர்த்தன என்பது பொருள்.
