Kural 115

Ketum Perukkamum Illalla Nenjaththuk
Kotaamai Saandrork Kani

Meaning
Loss and gain are bound to come in anyone's life. Keeping one's mind from swerving away from fairness through both is the true ornament of the noble.
Classic translations
Meaning (W.H. Drew & John Lazarus)
Loss and gain come not without cause; it is the ornament of the wise to preserve evenness of mind (under both).
Translation (G.U. Pope)
The gain and loss in life are not mere accident; Just mind inflexible is sages' ornament.
