- காதல் என்னும் கொடிய வெள்ளத்தில் நீந்திக்கொண்டே இருக்கிறேன்; இன்னும் கரை கண்ணில் படவில்லை. எல்லோரும் உறங்கும் நள்ளிரவிலும் நான் மட்டும் தனியாக விழித்திருக்கிறேன் என்று தலைவி புலம்புகிறாள். 'யாமம்' என்பது நள்ளிரவு நேரம். துயரத்தின் முடிவு தெரியாமல் தனிமையில் தவிக்கும் நிலையை இது படம் பிடிக்கிறது.
