- 'நாம் இருவரும் வேறு வேறு அல்லர், ஒருவரே' என்று முன்பு சொன்னவர் இப்போது அன்பு காட்டாமல் பிரிந்திருக்கிறார். அவருடைய அந்த அன்பின்மையை மிகுதியாக நினைத்து நினைத்து என் இனிய உயிர் தேய்ந்து அழிகிறது என்று தலைவி வருந்துகிறாள். 'அளி' என்றால் அருள், அன்பு. சொன்ன சொல்லுக்கும் நடப்புக்கும் உள்ள இடைவெளி மனத்தை எவ்வளவு புண்படுத்தும் என்பதை இது காட்டுகிறது.
