- காதலர் அருகில் இல்லாத நாட்களில் மாலைப் பொழுது, கொலைக்களத்திற்குள் நுழையும் கொலையாளிகளைப் போல என்னை நோக்கி வருகிறது என்கிறாள் தலைவி. ‘ஏதிலர்’ என்பது இரக்கமில்லாத அயலாரை, பகைவரைக் குறிக்கிறது. உயிரைப் பறிக்க வருவது போல மாலை அச்சமும் வேதனையும் தருகிறது என்பதை இந்த உவமை காட்டுகிறது.
