Kural 14

Thirukkural 14: ஏரின் உழாஅர் உழவர் புயல்என்னும் – Meaning in English (The Blessing of Rain)

Kural 14

Erin Uzhaaar Uzhavar Puyalennum
Vaari Valangundrik Kaal

Meaning
When rain, the great source of plenty, runs short, farmers stop ploughing their fields with the plough.
Classic translations

Translation (G.U. Pope)
If clouds their wealth of waters fail on earth to pour, The ploughers plough with oxen's sturdy team no more.
