ஒறுத்தாரை ஒன்றாக வையாரே வைப்பர்

- தமக்குத் தீங்கு செய்தவரைத் திருப்பித் தண்டிப்பவரை அறிவுடையோர் ஒரு பொருட்டாகவும் மதிக்க மாட்டார்கள். ஆனால் பொறுத்துக்கொண்டவரை, பொன்னைச் சுற்றிக் கட்டிப் பாதுகாப்பது போல, மனத்தில் உயர்வாக வைத்துப் போற்றுவார்கள். "ஒறுத்தல்" என்றால் தண்டித்தல்; "பொதிதல்" என்றால் மூடிக் காத்தல். பழிவாங்குபவரை விடப் பொறுப்பவரையே மக்கள் நெடுநாள் மதிக்கின்றனர்.
