- சிற்றின்பம் என்பது சிறிது நேரமே நீடிக்கும் அற்பமான இன்பம். மற்றின்பம் என்பது அதைவிட உயர்ந்த, நிலையான இன்பம். அத்தகைய நிலையான இன்பத்தை விரும்புபவர்கள், சிறு இன்பத்துக்கு ஆசைப்பட்டு அறத்துக்கு மாறான செயல்களைச் செய்யமாட்டார்கள். உடனடி மகிழ்ச்சிக்காக நீண்டகால நன்மையை இழப்பது அறிவுடைமை அன்று.
