- அருள் என்பது எல்லா உயிர்களிடமும் காட்டும் இரக்கம். செல்வங்கள் பலவற்றுள்ளும் மிக உயர்ந்தது இந்த இரக்கம் என்னும் செல்வமே. பணமும் பொருளும் ஆகிய செல்வம் இழிந்த குணம் உடையவர்களிடமும் (பூரியார்) இருக்கக்கூடும்; ஆகவே அது ஒருவரின் உண்மையான பெருமையைக் காட்டாது. ஒருவரை உண்மையில் செல்வந்தர் ஆக்குவது அவருடைய இரக்கம் நிறைந்த மனமே.
