- தன் உடலின் சதையைப் பெருக்கிக்கொள்வதற்காக வேறோர் உயிரின் சதையை உண்பவனிடம் அருள் எப்படி நிலைத்து நிற்கும் என்று வள்ளுவர் கேள்வி எழுப்புகிறார். இங்கே "ஊன்" என்பது சதை அல்லது இறைச்சி; "அருள்" என்பது எல்லா உயிர்களிடமும் காட்டும் இரக்கம். தன் உடல் நலனுக்காகப் பிற உயிரை அழிப்பதும், உயிர்களிடம் இரக்கம் கொள்வதும் ஒரே மனத்தில் சேர்ந்து இருக்க முடியாது என்பதே கருத்து.
