- "செயிர்" என்றால் குற்றம், குறிப்பாக மனத்தைக் குழப்பும் மயக்கம். அந்த மயக்கத்திலிருந்து விடுபட்டுத் தெளிந்த அறிவைப் பெற்றவர்கள், உயிர் நீங்கிய உடலின் சதையை உண்ணமாட்டார்கள். "தலைப்பிரிந்த" என்பது நீங்கிய அல்லது பிரிந்த என்று பொருள்படும். உண்மையை மயக்கமின்றிக் காணும் அறிவே ஊன் உண்ணாமைக்கு வழிகாட்டும் என்று வள்ளுவர் சொல்கிறார்.
