- குற்றம் சிறிதும் இல்லாத நன்மையைத் தருமானால், பொய்யான சொல்லும் வாய்மையின் இடத்தில் வைத்து எண்ணப்படும். 'புரை தீர்ந்த' என்றால் குறை அற்ற என்று பொருள். தன்னலத்துக்காக அல்லாமல், பிறர் உயிரையோ நலத்தையோ காக்கும் நோக்கில், யாருக்கும் கேடு இல்லாமல் சொல்லப்படும் சொல்லையே இது குறிக்கிறது.
