- எல்லா உயிர்களிடத்தும் அழகிய, குளிர்ந்த அருளைச் (செந்தண்மை) அணிகலனாகக் கொண்டு வாழ்வதால், அறவழியில் நிற்பவர்களே 'அந்தணர்' என்று அழைக்கப்படுகின்றனர். இந்தப் பெயருக்குக் காரணம் அவர்கள் எல்லா உயிர்களிடமும் காட்டும் இரக்கமான நடத்தையே என்று வள்ளுவர் விளக்குகிறார். அன்பும் கருணையும் உடையவரே உண்மையில் உயர்ந்தவராக மதிக்கப்படுவார்.
