- எவ்வளவு சிறிய அளவிலும், எந்தக் காலத்திலும், யாருக்கும், மனம் அறிந்து தீங்கு செய்யாமல் இருப்பதே அறங்களில் தலைசிறந்தது. 'மாணா' என்றால் நல்லதல்லாத, துன்பம் தரும் செயல்கள். 'மனத்தான்' என்பது தெரிந்தே, விரும்பியே செய்வதைக் குறிக்கிறது. சிறு கேலியோ சிறு ஏமாற்றமோ கூட வேண்டுமென்றே செய்யப்பட்டால் அது தவிர்க்கப்பட வேண்டியதே.
