- கொல்லாமையை உறுதியாக மேற்கொண்டு வாழ்பவனின் வாழ்நாளின் மீது, உயிர்களைக் கவர்ந்து செல்லும் கூற்றுவன் பாய்வதில்லை. 'கூற்று' என்பது உயிரைப் பறிக்கும் சாவைக் குறிக்கும். பிற உயிர்களுக்கு வாழ்வு அளிப்பவனின் வாழ்க்கையைச் சாவும் எளிதில் நெருங்காது; அவன் அச்சமின்றி நெடுநாள் வாழ்வான் என்று வள்ளுவர் கொல்லாமையின் பெருமையைப் புகழ்கிறார்.
