- மனைவி நற்பண்புகளால் சிறந்தவளாக இருந்தால், அந்த இல்லத்தில் இல்லாதது என்ன? எதுவும் குறையாது. அவள் சிறப்பில்லாதவளாக இருந்தால், அங்கே இருப்பது என்ன? எத்தனை செல்வம் இருந்தாலும் இல்லாதது போலவே ஆகும். இரண்டு கேள்விகளாக அமைத்து, இல்லத்தின் நிறைவும் குறைவும் மனைவியின் பண்பைப் பொறுத்தது என்பதை வள்ளுவர் அழுத்திச் சொல்கிறார்.
