Thirukkural 619: தெய்வத்தான் ஆகா தெனினும் முயற்சிதன் – Meaning in English (Manly Effort)

Kural 619

Theyvaththaan Aakaa Theninum Muyarsidhan
Meyvaruththak Kooli Tharum

Meaning
Even if fate keeps a goal out of reach, effort never goes unpaid; it gives back a fair wage for the bodily toil that went into it.
Classic translations
Meaning (W.H. Drew & John Lazarus)
Although it be said that, through fate, it cannot be attained, yet labour, with bodily exertion, will yield its reward.
Translation (G.U. Pope)
Though fate-divine should make your labour vain; Effort its labour's sure reward will gain.
