- ஒரு படைவீரன் பகைவரை நோக்கிப் பெருமிதத்துடன் பேசுவதாக இக்குறள் அமைந்துள்ளது. 'என்னை' என்பது 'என் தலைவன்' என்று பொருள்படும். 'பகைவர்களே, என் தலைவன் முன் எதிர்த்து நிற்காதீர்கள். இதற்கு முன் அவனை எதிர்த்து நின்ற பலர் இன்று நடுகல்லாக நிற்கிறார்கள்' என்கிறான். போரில் இறந்த வீரர்களுக்கு நினைவுக்கல் நடும் பழைய வழக்கத்தை இது சுட்டுகிறது.
