- போர்க்களத்தில் அஞ்சாமல் பகைவரை எதிர்க்கும் கடுமையே பெரிய வீரம் என்று அறிந்தோர் கூறுவர். ஆனால் பகைவன் ஒரு துன்பத்தில் சிக்கியபோது அவனுக்கு உதவும் பெருந்தன்மையே அந்த வீரத்தின் கூர்மையான முனை ஆகும். 'ஊராண்மை' என்பது பிறருக்கு உதவும் பண்பு; 'எஃகு' என்பது கூர்மை. உண்மையான வலிமை இரக்கத்தோடு சேரும்போதுதான் முழுமை பெறுகிறது.
