- Cut down a thorny tree while it is still young; once it has hardened, it will wound the hand of whoever tries to remove it.

- முள்மரத்தை அது இளஞ்செடியாக இருக்கும்போதே வெட்டி அகற்ற வேண்டும்; அது முற்றி வைரமேறிய பின் வெட்ட முயன்றால், வெட்டுபவனின் கையையே காயப்படுத்தும். அதுபோலப் பகையையும் அது சிறிதாக இருக்கும்போதே களைந்துவிட வேண்டும். சிறு சிக்கல்களைத் தொடக்கத்திலேயே தீர்ப்பது அன்றாட வாழ்க்கைக்கும் பொருந்தும்.
