- மருத்துவ நூலோர் வளியை முதலாகக் கொண்டு கணக்கிட்ட மூன்று என்பவை வளி, அழல், ஐயம் ஆகும். இவை பொதுவாக வாதம், பித்தம், கபம் என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகின்றன. உடலில் இவை தக்க அளவில் இருக்கும்வரை நலம் நிலைக்கும். உணவும் உழைப்பும் அளவு மீறுவதாலோ குறைவதாலோ இவை மிகுந்தாலும் குறைந்தாலும் நோய் உண்டாகும். ஆகவே உணவிலும் உழைப்பிலும் அளவோடு இருந்து உடலைச் சமநிலையில் வைப்பது நல்லது.
