Biography
Aishwarya Rajesh, born on January 10, 1990, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is one of the most talented and versatile actresses in contemporary Tamil cinema. She is the daughter of actor Rajesh and initially pursued a career in dance and television before entering films.
Aishwarya began her career as a television host on Sun TV before making her film debut with “Avargalum Ivargalum” (2011). Her breakthrough came with the National Award-winning film “Kaaka Muttai” (2015), where she played a struggling single mother in the slums of Chennai. The film brought her widespread critical acclaim and established her as a serious actress.
She followed this with strong performances in “Dharmadurai” (2016) opposite Vijay Sethupathi, “Kanaa” (2018) where she played a village girl aspiring to be a cricket player, “Vada Chennai” (2018) directed by Vetrimaaran, and “Ka Pae Ranasingam” (2020). Her role in the Tamil-Telugu bilingual “World Famous Lover” (2020) and the critically acclaimed “The Great Indian Kitchen” (2023, Tamil version) further showcased her range. Aishwarya has won the SIIMA Award for Best Actress, Ananda Vikatan Award, and has been consistently praised for choosing meaningful, women-centric roles that challenge conventional heroines in Tamil cinema.
