Biography

Amy Jackson, born Amy Louise Jackson on January 31, 1992, in Douglas, Isle of Man, is a British actress and model who has made a significant impact in Indian cinema, particularly in Tamil and Hindi films. She won the Miss Teen World title in 2009, which helped launch her acting career in India.

Amy made her acting debut in the Tamil period drama “Madrasapattinam” (2010) directed by A.L. Vijay opposite Arya, earning praise for her portrayal of a British governor’s daughter in colonial India and winning the Ananda Vikatan Cinema Award for Best Debut Actress. She followed this with Tamil films like “Ekk Deewana Tha” (2012), “Theri” (2016) opposite Vijay, and the blockbuster “I” (2015) directed by Shankar opposite Vikram.

Her role in Shankar’s “I” (2015) brought her widespread recognition, and she later appeared in “2.0” (2018), the sequel to “Enthiran”, alongside Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar. In Hindi cinema, she appeared in “Singh Is Bliing” (2015) opposite Akshay Kumar. Amy also gained international recognition playing Imra Ardeen / Saturn Girl in the DC superhero television series “Supergirl” (2018). She has won SIIMA and Edison Awards for her work in Indian cinema.
