Biography

Anjali, born on June 16, 1986, in Razole, East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, is a versatile Indian actress who has worked in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi cinema. Known for her natural acting style and ability to portray intense emotional roles, she has delivered several critically acclaimed performances.

Anjali made her debut with the Telugu film “Photo” (2006) before gaining breakthrough recognition with Ram’s “Kattradhu Thamizh” (2007), a critically acclaimed Tamil film about a struggling Tamil scholar. She followed this with “Angaadi Theru” (2010), a powerful drama about workers in Ranganathan Street, Chennai, which won her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Tamil.

Her other notable Tamil films include “Engaeyum Eppothum” (2011), “Settai” (2013), and the horror hit “Lisaa” (2020). In Telugu cinema, she appeared in “Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu” (2013) and “Geethanjali” (2014). She also made her Bollywood debut in Zoya Akhtar’s “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” (2011) in a memorable supporting role. Anjali has been praised for her willingness to take on deglamourized roles and her commitment to performance-oriented cinema. She has won Filmfare and SIIMA awards for her contributions to South Indian cinema.
