Biography
Dulquer Salmaan, born on July 28, 1986, in Kochi, Kerala, is a popular Indian actor who works primarily in Malayalam cinema and has made a significant impact in Tamil and Telugu films as well. He is the son of legendary Malayalam actor Mammootty and graduated with an MBA from Babson College, USA, before pursuing acting.
Dulquer made his acting debut in the Malayalam film “Second Show” (2012) and quickly became one of Malayalam cinema’s most bankable stars with films like “Ustad Hotel” (2012), “Bangalore Days” (2014), and “Charlie” (2015). His Tamil debut came with the critically acclaimed “Vaayai Moodi Pesavum” (2014), and he delivered a standout performance in “O Kadhal Kanmani” (2015) directed by Mani Ratnam.
His portrayal of Lieutenant Ram in the Telugu romantic drama “Sita Ramam” (2022) earned him pan-Indian acclaim, and his Hindi debut “Karwaan” (2018) was well received. In Tamil, he has been praised for his work in “Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal” (2020) and “Hey Sinamika” (2022). Dulquer is known for his suave style, natural acting ability, and multilingual versatility. He has won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor - Malayalam and several other accolades across multiple film industries.
