Dushara

Dushara Vijayan, born on October 14, 1997, in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, is an Indian actress and model who has rapidly risen as one of the most talented performers in contemporary Tamil cinema. The daughter of DMK Treasurer K. Vijayan, she initially pursued engineering before switching to fashion design at NIFT, where she began modelling in 2016.

Dushara made her acting debut in “Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari” (2019) before her breakthrough in Pa. Ranjith’s sports drama “Sarpatta Parambarai” (2021), where she portrayed a feisty woman from 1970s Madras. Her fierce yet tender performance won the Best Actress Award (Critics Choice) at the Galatta Crown Awards. She followed this with a compelling performance in Ranjith’s “Natchathiram Nagargiradhu” (2022), earning the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress (Special Prize).

In 2024, Dushara reached new heights, starring alongside Dhanush in “Raayan” and appearing with Rajinikanth in “Vettaiyan,” both receiving critical acclaim. In 2025, she appeared in “Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2” alongside Vikram.
