Biography
Ghibran, born on January 26, 1980, in Tamil Nadu, is a talented Indian music composer and singer who has made a significant mark in Tamil cinema with his distinctive fusion of Indian and Western classical music. He is known for his ability to create atmospheric, emotionally resonant scores that elevate the films he works on.
Ghibran began his music career by working as a keyboard programmer and arranger before making his debut as an independent composer. His first major break came with “Vaagai Sooda Vaa” (2011), and he gained widespread recognition with the critically acclaimed score for “Uttama Villain” (2015) directed by Ramesh Aravind starring Kamal Haasan.
His notable film scores include “Wagah” (2016), “Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada” (2016), “Jarugandi” (2018), and “Cobra” (2022). He won the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director - Tamil for his work and has been praised for his background scores that add cinematic depth to films. Ghibran has also composed music for Telugu and Hindi films, showcasing his versatility across languages. His score for the short film “Visa” earned him international recognition. He continues to be one of Tamil cinema’s most promising and innovative composers.
