Biography
R. Adhithya Venkatapathy, popularly known as Hiphop Tamizha Adhi, born on February 20, 1990, in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, is a multifaceted artist who has revolutionised Tamil music with his unique blend of hip-hop, folk, and contemporary sounds. Along with his partner Jeeva, he formed the musical duo Hiphop Tamizha, which became a cultural phenomenon.
Adhi burst onto the scene with the independent album “Hip Hop Tamizhan” (2011) and the viral hit “Club le Mabbu le” (2012). His music resonated with Tamil youth, combining Tamil pride with modern hip-hop sensibilities. He made his mark as a film music composer with “Meesaya Murukku” (2017), which he also wrote, directed, and starred in, making it an impressive multi-talented debut.
As a music director, Adhi has composed chart-topping soundtracks for films like “Natpe Thunai” (2019), “Sivakumarin Sabadham” (2021), and “Veeran” (2023). His compositions are known for their energetic beats, catchy hooks, and incorporation of Tamil cultural elements.
