Ivana

Aleena Shaji, known by her stage name Ivana, is an Indian actress who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. Born on February 25, 2000, in Changanacherry, Kerala, she began her career as a child artist in the Malayalam film “Masters” (2012) at age 12.

Director Bala cast her in the Tamil film “Naachiyaar” (2018) opposite Jyothika and G.V. Prakash Kumar, suggesting she adopt a stage name easier for Tamil audiences. Her portrayal earned her SIIMA Award and Filmfare Award nominations for Best Debut Actress in Tamil. She had previously appeared in Malayalam films including “Rani Padmini” (2015) and “Anuraga Karikkin Vellam” (2016).

Her career-defining role came in the blockbuster romantic comedy “Love Today” (2022) directed by Pradeep Ranganathan, where she played the lead role of Nikitha, cementing her status as a leading actress in Tamil cinema.
