Jai, born Navneeth Sundar on October 28, 1985, in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, is a popular Tamil film actor known for his boy-next-door charm and his ability to play both romantic leads and intense dramatic roles. He has been one of the consistent performers in Tamil cinema since the mid-2000s.

Jai made his acting debut with a small role in Vijay’s “Bhagavathi” (2002) before landing his breakthrough role in Venkat Prabhu’s cult cricket comedy “Chennai 600028” (2007). He followed this with a career-defining performance in Sasikumar’s critically acclaimed “Subramaniapuram” (2008), which won widespread praise and is considered one of the finest Tamil films of the 2000s.

His filmography includes a mix of commercially successful and critically acclaimed films like “Engaeyum Eppothum” (2011), “Raja Rani” (2013), “Jarugandi” (2018), and “Breaking News” (2023). Jai has also been part of ensemble films and has shown his range in both action and romantic genres. He won the Vijay Award for Best Supporting Actor for “Raja Rani”. Known for his natural screen presence and versatility, Jai continues to be an active and recognisable name in the Tamil film industry.
