Biography

Laila, also known as Laila Mehdin, born on March 17, 1978, in Bangalore, Karnataka, is a popular actress who has worked extensively in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam cinema. She made her acting debut in the Kannada film “Bhairavi” (1991) as a child artist and later transitioned to lead roles.

Her Tamil debut came with “Unnaruge Naan Irundhal” (1999) alongside Parthiban, and she quickly became one of Tamil cinema’s leading actresses in the early 2000s. Her notable Tamil films include “Friends” (2001) opposite Vijay, the Suriya starrer “Mounam Pesiyadhe” (2002), “Bala” (2002) with Shaam, and “Thotti Jaya” (2005) alongside Simbu. She was known for her expressive eyes and ability to portray both glamorous and emotional characters convincingly.

In Telugu cinema, Laila appeared in successful films alongside top heroes and established herself as a sought-after actress. She has acted in over 50 films across multiple languages during her career.

After stepping away from full-time acting, Laila made occasional appearances in selected projects. She has been involved in various business ventures and philanthropic activities.
