Biography
Livingston, born Philip Livingston Jones on August 21, 1957, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is a veteran Indian actor, comedian, and screenwriter known primarily for his work in Tamil cinema. With a career spanning over four decades, he has become one of the most recognizable character actors in the industry.
Livingston began his career as a screenwriter, working on films like “Kannai Rasi” (1985) and “Kaakki Sattai” (1985). He transitioned to acting with “Poondhotai Kaaval Karan” (1988) and quickly established himself in supporting and comedy roles. He gained widespread recognition for his performances in “Captain Prabhakaran” (1991), “Sundara Purushan” (1996), and “Sollamale” (1998), for which he won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Comedian.
A versatile performer, Livingston has acted in numerous blockbusters including “Vaali” (1999), “Charlie Chaplin” (2002), “M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi” (2004), and “Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen” (2017).
