Biography

Manjima Mohan, born on March 11, 1993, in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is an Indian actress working predominantly in Malayalam and Tamil cinema. She is the daughter of veteran cinematographer Vipin Mohan and dancer Kalamandalam Girija. She studied mathematics at Stella Maris College, Chennai.

Manjima began as a child actress in the 1998 Malayalam film “Kaliyoonjal,” portraying the younger version of Shobana’s character. After a break for studies, she made her comeback with “Oru Vadakkan Selfie” (2015) in Malayalam, which was a commercial success.

Director Gautham Vasudev Menon, impressed by her performance, cast her as the female lead in her Tamil debut “Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada” (2016) alongside Simbu, for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut (South). She went on to star in Tamil films including “Ippadai Vellum” (2017) opposite Udhayanidhi Stalin, “Sathriyan” (2017) opposite Vikram Prabhu, and “Tughlaq Durbar” (2021) with Vijay Sethupathi.

In 2022, she married actor Gautham Karthik, son of veteran actor Karthik. Known for her natural beauty, expressive acting, and her roots in a creative family, Manjima Mohan continues to be a sought-after actress in South Indian cinema.
