Oviya, born Helen Nelson on April 29, 1991, in Thrissur, Kerala, is an Indian actress who has worked predominantly in Tamil and Malayalam cinema. She gained massive popularity through her appearance on the reality television show Bigg Boss Tamil Season 1 (2017), where she became one of the most talked-about contestants.

Oviya began her acting career in the Malayalam film industry, appearing in films like “Kangaroo” (2007). She made a memorable entry into Tamil cinema with “Kalavani” (2010), a rural comedy-drama that became a surprise hit at the box office.
