Biography

Sathish, born Sathish Muthukrishnan on May 23, 1987, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is a popular Tamil film comedian and actor who has become one of the most in-demand comedy actors in contemporary Tamil cinema. His relatable humour and everyman persona have made him a favourite among audiences and directors alike.

Sathish began his career as a radio jockey before transitioning to acting. He made his film debut in small roles and gradually built his reputation through consistently entertaining comedy performances. His breakthrough came with “Ethir Neechal” (2013), where his comedy track was widely appreciated.

He went on to deliver memorable comedy performances in numerous hit films including “Maan Karate” (2014), “Remo” (2016), “Singam 3” (2017), “Mersal” (2017), “Viswasam” (2019), “Bigil” (2019), and “Master” (2021). Sathish has been particularly successful in Vijay starrers, where his comedy scenes have become crowd pleasers. He has also taken on lead roles and expanded his range. He won the Edison Award for Best Comedian and the Vijay Award for Best Comedian. Known for his ability to improvise and create humour from everyday situations, Sathish continues to be one of Tamil cinema’s most reliable comedy performers.
