Shakthisree Gopalan, born on March 11, 1987, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is a talented Indian playback singer known for her soulful and versatile voice. She has sung in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films, establishing herself as one of the most distinctive female voices in contemporary South Indian cinema.
Shakthisree made her playback singing debut in 2008 and gained widespread recognition with the song “Nenjukkule” from the A.R. Rahman-composed film “Kadal” (2013) directed by Mani Ratnam, which won her the Vijay Award for Best Female Playback Singer. She has since recorded numerous popular songs for Tamil films, collaborating with composers like A.R. Rahman, Harris Jayaraj, D. Imman, and Santhosh Narayanan.
