Biography
Shriya Saran, born on September 11, 1982, in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, is a versatile actress who has been a leading figure in South Indian cinema for over two decades. A trained Kathak dancer, she made her acting debut in the Telugu film “Ishtam” (2001) and quickly became one of the most sought-after actresses in the industry.
Her Tamil debut came with “Mazhai” (2005), and she went on to star in several notable Tamil films including “Sivaji: The Boss” (2007) opposite Rajinikanth, which became one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of its time, “Kutty” (2010), and “Naan Mahaan Alla” (2010). Her glamorous screen presence and dancing skills made her a perfect fit for big-budget productions.
In Telugu cinema, Shriya delivered numerous hits including “Santhosham” (2002), “Chatrapathi” (2005), and “Manam” (2014). She achieved international recognition with her role in the Hollywood film “The Other End of the Line” (2008) and appeared in the French film “Saawariya” (2007).
