Biography

Siddharth, born Siddharth Suryanarayan on April 17, 1979, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is a versatile Indian actor, producer, and playback singer who works primarily in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi cinema. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from BITS Pilani and an MBA from S.P. Jain Institute of Management.

Siddharth began his film career as an assistant director to Mani Ratnam before making his acting debut in Shankar’s “Boys” (2003). He became a star with the Telugu blockbuster “Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana” (2005) and gained pan-Indian fame with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s “Rang De Basanti” (2006). His Telugu film “Bommarillu” (2006) was a massive hit and was remade in multiple languages.

In Tamil cinema, Siddharth delivered notable performances in “Aaytha Ezhuthu” (2004) directed by Mani Ratnam, “180” (2011), “Enakkul Oruvan” (2015), and “Chithha” (2023). He is also a talented playback singer and has sung in several of his films. A vocal social commentator, Siddharth is known for his outspoken views on politics and social issues. He is married to actress Aditi Rao Hydari. His multilingual versatility and intellectual approach to cinema have earned him a distinctive place in Indian film industry.
