Biography
Vishal Krishna Reddy, born on August 29, 1977, in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, is a prominent Tamil actor, producer, and film industry activist. The son of film producer G.K. Reddy, Vishal made his acting debut in Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s critically acclaimed “Chellamae” (2004), which was a commercial success.
Vishal established himself as an action star with blockbusters like “Sandakozhi” (2005) directed by Linguswamy, “Thimiru” (2006), “Samar” (2013), and “Pandiya Naadu” (2013). His intense screen presence and physically demanding roles earned him the title “Puratchi Thalapathy” (Revolutionary Commander) from his fans. He has starred in over 35 films, consistently delivering mass-appeal entertainment.
Beyond acting, Vishal has been deeply involved in Tamil film industry politics. He served as the President of the Tamil Film Producers’ Council and the Secretary of the Nadigar Sangam (South Indian Film Artistes’ Association). His efforts to combat piracy and ensure fair practices in the industry have been widely acknowledged. He also ran for the position of President of the Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council.
