Vishnu Vishal Chandrasekhar, born on July 17, 1984, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is a talented Tamil actor and producer known for choosing content-driven scripts. A former cricketer who represented Tamil Nadu in state-level cricket, he transitioned to acting and made his debut with “Balakrishna” (2009).
His breakthrough came with “Mundasupatti” (2014), a period comedy that won critical acclaim and established him as an actor with a taste for unique scripts. He followed this with the sports drama “Jeeva” (2014), where he played a cricketer, drawing from his real-life sporting background. The National Award-winning “Ratchasan” (2018), a psychological thriller directed by Ram Kumar, became a massive hit and is widely regarded as one of Tamil cinema’s finest thrillers.
Vishnu Vishal has consistently chosen diverse roles across genres including the comedy “Silukkuvarupatti Singam” (2018), the rural drama “Jagajala Killadi” (2021), and “Mohandas” (2023). He turned producer with his banner VV Studios and has been involved in developing content-driven projects.
