- உண்டு முடித்த ஈரக் கையை உதறினால் ஒட்டியிருக்கும் சோற்றுப் பருக்கைகளாவது கீழே விழும்; கயவர்கள் அந்த அளவுகூடப் பிறருக்குக் கொடுக்கமாட்டார்கள். மடக்கிய கையால் குத்தித் தங்கள் தாடையை உடைக்கும் வலியவர்களுக்கு மட்டுமே ஏதேனும் தருவர். 'கொடிறு' என்றால் தாடை; 'கூன்கை' என்றால் மடக்கிய கை. அன்பால் அல்ல, அடிக்கு அஞ்சியே கொடுப்பது கயமையின் அடையாளம்.
