- இவளுடைய பார்வை கூற்றுவனா? கண்ணா? மருண்டு நோக்கும் பெண்மானா? என்று தலைவன் ஐயப்படுகிறான். உயிரை வாட்டுவதால் கூற்றுவனைப் போலவும், பார்க்கும் தன்மையால் கண்ணைப் போலவும், மருட்சியால் மானைப் போலவும் அது இருக்கிறது. இந்த இளம்பெண்ணின் பார்வையில் இம்மூன்று தன்மைகளும் ஒருசேர அமைந்துள்ளன. 'பிணை' என்பது பெண்மான்; 'மடவரல்' என்பது இளமையும் மென்மையும் உடைய பெண்.
