- தாம் விரும்பும் காதலியின் மென்மையான தோள்களில் சாய்ந்து உறங்கும் இன்பத்தைவிட, தாமரை போன்ற கண்களை உடைய திருமாலின் உலகம் இனிமையானதா என்று தலைவன் கேட்கிறான். "கொல்" என்பது ஐயம் கலந்த வினாவைக் காட்டும் சொல். விரும்பியவளோடு அமைதியாகக் கூடியிருக்கும் இன்பத்திற்கு மேலுலக இன்பமும் ஈடாகாது என்பது கருத்து.
