- விளக்கம்
- ஒருவன் அறத்தின் எல்லைக்குள் நில்லாமல் தகாத செயல்களைச் செய்பவனாக இருந்தாலும், இன்னொருவனுக்கு உரிமையானவளின் பெண்மையை விரும்பாமல் இருப்பதாவது நல்லது. "பிறன் வரையாள்" என்றால் பிறனின் எல்லைக்குள், அவனுக்கு உரியவளாக வாழ்பவள். வேறு எந்த நெறியைத் தவறினாலும் இந்த ஒன்றை மட்டும் தவறக்கூடாது என்று இக்குறள் வலியுறுத்துகிறது.

- Even if a man strays from virtue and does wrong, it is still good for him at least not to desire a woman who belongs to another man.
