- விளக்கம்
- பிறரைப் பற்றி அவர் இல்லாத இடத்தில் குறை பேசியும், அவர் முன்னே பொய்யாக நடித்தும் உயிரைக் காத்து வாழ்வதைவிட, இறந்துபோவதே மேலானது. அப்படி இறப்பது, அறநூல்கள் சொல்லும் நன்மையை அவனுக்குத் தரும் என்கிறார் வள்ளுவர். இழிவான வழியில் நீண்ட நாள் வாழ்வதைவிட, மானத்தோடு வாழ்வை முடிப்பதே சிறந்தது என்பது இதன் உட்பொருள்.
