- தம்மிடம் உள்ள செல்வத்தைப் பிறருக்குக் கொடுக்காமல் சேர்த்து வைத்து, இறுதியில் அதை இழந்துவிடும் இரக்கமற்றவர்கள், கொடுத்து மகிழும் இன்பத்தை அறியவில்லையோ என்று வள்ளுவர் வியந்து கேட்கிறார். 'வன்கணவர்' என்றால் இளகாத கடுமையான மனம் உடையவர். கொடுப்பதில் கிடைக்கும் மனநிறைவை உணர்ந்தவர் செல்வத்தைப் பூட்டி வைக்க மாட்டார்.
